What is Healthy Families?
Healthy Families is a free home visiting program for parents in Madison and St. Clair County. We bring you the most up-to-date information on child health and development, build on positive parenting skills, and serve as an extra support system for you and your family. Home visits are interactive – we even make toys and bring activities for you and your baby!
Being a parent is the most important job you will ever have. We will partner with you to get through challenging times and will also be there to celebrate your family’s successes. We will talk about ways to care for yourself and your baby that will encourage you to discover how to give your baby the most valuable gift of all – a healthy family!
The Healthy Families Illinois (HFI) program at CYHS is in place to assist parents and their newborns.
HFI focuses on child growth and development and promotes parent-child interaction by learning through play.
These services begin prenatally or within 3 months of birth. A Family Support Specialist visits new families in the home on a regular basis and may continue for up to three years. The length and frequency of these visits are determined by the needs of the family.
