Teen Reach

We offer an after-school program called Teen REACH (Responsibility, Education, Achievement, Caring and Hope) for high-risk youth between the ages of 6 and 17. It provides them with opportunities for positive growth and development during out-of-school hours.

Students enrolled in Teen REACH participate in academic tutoring, life skills lessons, recreation activities, service learning and mentoring. We strongly encourage parent/guardian involvement.

Teen REACH is a FREE program offered at Grigsby Intermediate School in Granite City, IL. To enroll your child in Teen REACH please complete the Enrollment From. The completed enrollment form can be dropped off at CYHS, 2016 Madison Ave, Granite City, IL or emailed to teenreach@cyhs.com . This form may also be turned in at school once school begins.

If enrolled, your child will benefit from:

Improved educational performance

Students have time set aside for homework, tutoring in basic skills and enrichment programs that encourage creativity.

Life skills education

Students receive guidance and education to promote healthy lifestyles while encouraging abstinence from alcohol and/or substance abuse, violence, criminal and/or sexual activity.

Recreation, sports, cultural and artistic activities

Students will have safe outlets to try new skills and develop new interests, to build friendships, find their place in a group and gain developmentally relevant experiences.

Adult Mentors

Students will be surrounded by supporters who allow participants to develop while maintaining positive, sustained relationships with adults.

Service - learning activities

Students will be connected to classroom lessons that have meaningful service to the community. Students will build their academic skills while strengthening their communities through service.

Parental involvement

Student parents/guardians will have opportunities to meet with staff to discuss their children’s activities and to participate in events that strengthen family bonds and community involvement.
